The Community Grief Center, like many other businesses and non-profits, are taking precautions to limit exposure and prevent further spread of the COVID-19 virus. The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is suggesting limiting public gatherings to the greatest degree possible.
The time to limit the spread of this virus is now-before we see a possible up-swing in illness. Federal, state, and local health agencies are encouraging the practice of "social distancing" as our first response to this serious health concern. Limiting physical contact with others is the best method of keeping this virus from becoming more widespread.
Therefore, the Community Grief Center is going to postpone all individual and group activities at our place of service through March 31st . We will follow and review what is going on in our community and if/how the pandemic is developing/receding. Based on what is going on in the surrounding area, we will determine whether to reopen or continue with our postponement.
We value our clients--they are the reason we provide services. We also value our volunteers-without them we wouldn't exist. It is of utmost importance to keep everyone safe! While you may not be attending the groups you're currently in, you are welcome to call and talk to your group facilitators, or to Dr. Debby Baker, our Executive Director, at 719-648-6085. We too, are disappointed that we must take this action when we have grieving people to serve, but health concerns must be our first priority while facing this pandemic.
We hope to serve your needs in the nearest future!
